About

This site has been developed as a reference tool for educators, parents and students. It provides information for Special Education programming and the services that are available to support the needs of all learners.

One of the largest goals that the Special Education department has set for themselves this year is the development of an assistive technology space. This space will house computers, scanners, head sets and microphones, as well as iPods and iPads. Our plan is to create a quiet and comfortable location where students can access programs like Dragon Naturally Speaking, Kurzweil and Word Q on a regular basis. We have also participated in an iPossibilities pilot project where we work with students in Special Education to see what apps can best accommodate their needs in the classroom.

I hope you find the information on this website useful. Many of the pages contain links to a variety of outside resources that will provide you with tools, ideas and insight regarding some of the exceptionalities that our students work with on a daily basis.
